About this craft
Furoshiki (風呂敷) is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth dating to the Edo period, used for gifts, transport, and storage. Musubi carries this textile heritage as a specialist Tokyo maker. Murasaki (紫) purple is historically significant in Japanese aesthetics—a color once reserved for nobility. Pure silk chirimen (縮緬) is a traditional crinkled weave originating in Kyoto.
