What we sell

Tokyo Carry carries the products Japanese people actually buy — Hobonichi planners, Tombow brush pens, Mino-yaki tableware, Tamiya model kits, Kuretake watercolors, Aderia Tsugaru hand-cut glass, Iwachu cast-iron kettles, and thousands more.

We focus on three things over everything else: authentic Japanese makers (no Amazon-marketplace fakes), well-known domestic brands with deep heritage and clear provenance, and products that ship safely internationally — no lithium batteries, no fragile glass we can't pack properly, no items that won't clear customs in our 21 shipping destinations.

How we source

Every product on Tokyo Carry is sourced directly from licensed Japanese retailers — Amazon Japan, Yodobashi, Loft, Itoya, JetPens-Japan, and dedicated brand wholesalers. We don't dropship from China. We don't repackage. We don't sell counterfeits or grey-market goods.

Before a product appears on our store, it passes a five-gate vetting process: brand authenticity, image quality, shipping eligibility, customs compliance for our destination countries, and unit-economics check to confirm the price is fair. About 1 in 4 products we evaluate gets cut at this stage. The rest become listings you can browse here.

Hand-packed in Tokyo

Every order ships from our fulfillment hub in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. Our packing team inspects each item for defects, wraps fragile goods with bubble wrap and corner protection, and packs everything in right-sized boxes — no oversized shipments, no loose-fill peanuts that add weight without protection.

We use Japan Post exclusively for international shipping. For the US, EU, UK, AU, and 17 other destinations we know well, ePacket Light (under 2kg) and EMS (heavier orders) are the most cost-effective and reliable options — both tracked door to door, both with carrier insurance up to ¥20,000 (~$130 USD).

Why we don't price-match Amazon

You can sometimes find the same product cheaper on Amazon if you're willing to buy from third-party Japan sellers with no English support, weeks-long shipping estimates, and customs surprises at delivery. We're not trying to win that race.

What we offer instead: editorial curation (we don't list 50 versions of the same pen — we pick the one to buy), English product copy that explains what something actually does, transparent duty handling for US orders (all duties prepaid via our DDP setup with Japan Post), and an actual team you can email at hello@tokyocarry.com if anything goes wrong.

The company

Tokyo Carry is operated by Cross Market Holdings LLC, a Washington State (USA) company. Our shipping operations are based in Tokyo. We've been selling on eBay since 2019 under the store name pamam45 — the same team, the same sourcing standards, the same hand-packing — now on our own storefront with better photos, better copy, and proper international shipping pre-priced into checkout.

Founders: Nathan (Seattle) handles catalog, pricing, and US operations. Lisa (Tokyo) handles sourcing, inspection, and shipping. The two of us plus a small Tokyo packing crew run the whole thing.
