About this craft
Tosa (Tosayamada, Kochi) is a historic blade-forging region since the Edo period. Blue Steel No. 1 is a premium Japanese carbon-steel alloy. The funayuki shape originates in Japanese fishing villages, where it was used to fillet small fish like horse mackerel (aji). Double-edged design reflects Japanese kitchen knife tradition.
