Why this bundle

Three pieces from Aderia's nostalgic Showa-era glassware revival β€” the style of glass that filled Japanese homes from the 1950s through 70s, now hand-made again in small runs. A pedestal Alice tumbler, a pair set of Zoomate animal-pattern tumblers with coasters, and a pair of Tsugaru Vidro sake cups.

The Alice and Zoomate pieces are from Aderia's Retro line β€” pressed-glass shapes and surface patterns that draw directly from postwar Japanese kissaten (coffee shops) and family restaurants. The Spring Night sake cup pair is from Aderia's Tsugaru Vidro line, hand-blown in Aomori with the cloudy speckled glass technique. The three pieces sit together because they're all Aderia, all Japanese-made, and all carry the same "everyday glass with a small twist" sensibility β€” but each is from a different design tradition.

Net: five drinking vessels (one large tumbler, two retro tumblers, two sake cups) plus a pair of coasters. Enough range to set a table or fill a small bar cabinet.

Who it's for

For people who collect Japanese glass, anyone furnishing a new place who wants character without paying vintage-shop prices, and gifters looking for a set that splits well across multiple recipients (each pair/piece is its own gift box). The mix of patterns means it's flexible β€” fit for water, juice, cocktails, whisky, sake.

Frequently asked

Are these dishwasher safe?
The Retro tumblers (Alice, Zoomate) are dishwasher-safe per Aderia. The Tsugaru Vidro sake cups are hand-blown and we recommend hand-washing to protect the rim. A mixed-wash kitchen is fine β€” just put the sake cups aside.
Is this real vintage glass or new production?
New production by Aderia in Japan, using vintage molds and patterns. Aderia owns the design heritage from the original Showa-era pieces and produces these in small runs. They are built to vintage standards but will not come pre-aged.
How many people does this set serve?
Five drinking vessels total β€” works for a household of 4 or for entertaining 2-3 guests. The two Zoomate tumblers and two sake cups are pair sets, the Alice is a single piece.
What is the size of the Alice tumbler?
335ml (about 11oz) β€” standard mid-size tumbler, good for water, iced tea, or a long cocktail. The pedestal base makes it noticeably more formal-feeling than a flat-bottom glass.
Can I use the sake cups for anything besides sake?
Yes β€” they are sized for 60-80ml pours, so they work for any spirit served small (shochu, whisky neat, espresso liqueur). The Tsugaru Vidro speckled glass shows liquid color beautifully.
