Fukamushi is a deep-steaming technique unique to Shizuoka tea production, particularly the Kakegawa region. First-harvest leaves steeped longer in steam than standard asamushi (light-steam) create deeper umami and a darker liquor—a hallmark of Japanese high-grade sencha.

Store in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight and strong odors. Best enjoyed within 6 months of opening. Brew at 50–60°C for 2–3 minutes with kyusu (teapot) or gaiwan for full flavor.
