About this craft
Arita, in Saga Prefecture, pioneered porcelain production in Japan in 1610, inspired by Korean ceramicists. Ko-Imari ('Old Imari') refers to the hand-painted underglaze blue and red style exported via the port of Imari during the Edo and early Meiji periods. This style became synonymous with Japanese porcelain worldwide.
Description

Hand-wash recommended to preserve hand-painted decoration, though microwave and dishwasher safe. Avoid thermal shock (cold plate to hot water). Store stacked with felt separators to prevent glaze chipping.
