About this craft
Bizen ware is one of Japan's six ancient kilns (rokuyaki), dating to the 12th century in Okayama Prefecture. Pieces are fired without glaze at extreme heat, producing natural ash patterns and warm earth tones unique to each firing.
Description
Unglazed Bizen pottery mug with natural kiln variations
Hand wash gently in warm water. Porous unglazed clay may absorb flavors; dedicate to one beverage type if possible. Do not soak. Air dry upright. Avoid thermal shock (sudden temperature changes).
