About this craft
Kabazaiku is a 300+ year-old Kyoto craft of layering and shaping cherry tree bark. Fujiki Denshiro Shoten is one of the last practitioners. Each piece is hand-finished, making it a living example of Edo-period artisanship.

Hand-crafted cherry bark tea canister from Kyoto kabazaiku artisans
Hand-wash exterior only; avoid prolonged water immersion. Store in a cool, dry place. The urethane coating protects the cherry bark; do not scrub harshly. Odor and flavor transfer is normal for wood; consider dedicated tea storage.
