About this craft
Iga-yaki (Iga pottery) is a regional ceramic tradition dating to the 1600s in Mie Prefecture. Known for porous, fire-resistant earthenware ideal for donabe (one-pot cooking). Nagatani Seitou is a heritage kiln within that tradition.
Description
Heritage Iga earthenware donabe for one. Open-fire rated, American glaze.
Cure before first use: fill with water, simmer 5–10 minutes to seal pores. After cooking, let cool naturally before washing by hand with mild soap. Not suitable for rapid temperature changes. Store dry and well-ventilated.
