About this craft
Hiroshige (1797–1858) is a master of the ukiyo-e woodblock tradition. His Tokaido series, published 1833–1834, documents 55 stops on Japan's principal highway connecting Edo and Kyoto. The palette is famous for its indigo, later called 'Hiroshige blue.'
