About this craft
Tokoname (常滑) is one of Japan's six ancient pottery centers (rokudai-yaki), located in Aichi Prefecture. Known for reddish earthenware and tea vessels since the 12th century. Tokoname kyusu are prized for their porous clay that seasons with use.
Description
Authentic Tokoname ceramic kyusu with integrated strainer
Hand wash only. Soak in hot water before first use to season the clay. Store dry. Porous ceramic absorbs tea aromas over time, enhancing flavor. Avoid thermal shock (sudden temperature change).
