About this craft
Chasen is a centuries-old tea-ceremony tool, traditionally hand-woven from bamboo. Hokashien maintains traditional production in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture. Black bamboo (kuro-take) is selected for durability and aesthetic aging.
Description
Hand-crafted black bamboo matcha whisk from Tokyo maker Hokashien
Hand wash only; air-dry standing upright with prongs facing up. Soak bristles in warm water 2–3 min before use. Store in the included case. Black bamboo will develop natural patina and darken slightly over months of use.
