About this craft
Hagi-yaki (萩焼) is a 400-year ceramic tradition from Yamaguchi Prefecture. Characterized by soft, cloudy glazes in muted earth tones. Kiln variance and craftsman technique ensure each piece is subtly different. Surface crazing develops with age and use, prized as natural patina.
Description
Hagi-yaki yellow rice bowl, handcrafted with cloud-like subtle glaze
Hand wash gently with mild soap and soft cloth. Do NOT use microwave, dishwasher, or dryer. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Crazing (fine cracks) in glaze is normal and adds patina over time. Store in soft cloth or padded space to protect delicate finish.
