About this craft
Hagi-yaki (萩焼) is a 400-year ceramic tradition from Yamaguchi Prefecture. Known for subtle, soft glazes and intentional imperfection. Each piece varies due to wood-kiln firing, considered a feature rather than flaw. Collectors prize the gradual surface crazing (age crackle) that develops over years of use.
Description
Hagi-yaki light blue rice bowl, handcrafted with subtle traditional glaze
Hand wash gently with mild soap and soft cloth. Do NOT use microwave, dishwasher, or dryer. Avoid sudden temperature changes (no hot-to-cold shock). Crazing (fine cracks) in glaze is normal and increases aesthetic value with age. Store in soft cloth or padded space.
