About this craft
Edo-kiriko is a Tokyo-rooted tradition of hand-cut geometric glass patterns dating to the Edo period. Miyoshi Lacquerware is a heritage craftmaker preserving this technique. The faceted surfaces create unique light refraction characteristic of Japanese cut glass.
Description
Hand-cut kiriko sake cups. Cobalt blue, pair with paulownia box.
Dishwasher-safe but hand-washing is gentler on the cut-glass surface. Dry immediately to prevent water spots on faceted edges. The paulownia box naturally repels moisture and odors; store cups inside when not in use to preserve condition. Avoid extreme temperature changes; allow cold sake to sit briefly before serving in room-temperature glasses.
