About this craft
Kiso hinoki cypress is prized in Japan for its fine grain and durability. The Kiso Valley region has managed these forests with care for 400+ years. Natural lacquer coating (from urushi tree sap) is a traditional Japanese finish that becomes more translucent and develops patina with use.

Hand-lacquered Kiso cypress chopsticks that age beautifully over time
Hand-wash preferred to extend lacquer life. Dishwasher-safe but lacquer may gradually thin with repeated washing. Store upright. Natural lacquer shade may vary slightly due to humidity and temperature during coating.
