About this craft
Koshihara-yaki is a pottery tradition from Fukuoka Prefecture, dating to the 1600s. Known for unpretentious earthenware with hand-applied glazes and subtle texture. Artisans prioritize functional beauty over decoration.
Description
Koshihara-yaki ceramic mug. Hand-glazed cream with polka-dot texture. Daily-use vessel
Hand wash recommended to preserve glaze detail, though dishwasher-safe. Avoid thermal shock (hot to cold water immediately). Microwave-safe. May develop light crazing over time, which is normal and adds character.
