About this craft
Tokoname (常滑焼) in Aichi prefecture has produced teapots for over 1,000 years, recognized as one of Japan's Six Great Kilns. The irabo glaze technique creates iridescent, earth-toned finishes distinctive to this region.
Description
Handmade Tokoname teapot with iridescent glaze, 400ml capacity
Rinse with hot water before first use to remove kiln dust. To brew: add loose tea leaves and hot water (160–80°C depending on tea type). Steep 3–5 minutes. Rinse gently after each use; air dry. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Hand wash only.
