About this craft
Magewappa is a 500-year-old Akita prefecture craft—thin wood steamed and bent without nails or glue into lidded boxes. Miyoshi Lacquerware (みよし漆器本舗) continues this tradition since 1917, using sustainably harvested local cedar.

Handcrafted cedar rice keeper, traditional bentwood joinery
Hand wash only; air dry. Do not soak. Wipe dry immediately. Store in a dry place. Over time, wood may develop natural patina and minor cracking—signs of age and authenticity. Not dishwasher safe.
