Country of Manufacture: Japan. Shigaraki ware is a yakimi made in Shigaraku town of Koga City, Shiga Prefecture. Considered one of the six kilns in Japan, it is said to have a long history of over 1200 years. Shigaraki ware was designated traditional arts from the country in 1976. The loofah is based on the word of Shigaraku artisans used in the meaning of "fluffy mono."
