About this craft
Nambu-tetsu (南部鉄) is a centuries-old iron-casting tradition from Iwate Prefecture, originating during the Edo period. Known for its pure iron composition and distinctive acoustic properties—the tone is deeper and more resonant than typical cast-iron wind chimes. Each piece is hand-cast in traditional molds.

Hand-cast Nambu iron wind chime with traditional deep, resonant tone
Keep dry when not in use. Light surface oxidation is normal and part of the material's character. Hang in a covered outdoor space to extend life. Do not attempt to clean with harsh chemicals; wipe gently with a dry cloth.
