About this craft
Magewappa is a 400-year regional craft from Akita prefecture. Thin cedar boards are steam-bent by hand into seamless boxes, then sealed with natural urushi lacquer. Each piece is unique; the wood breathes naturally and develops patina over decades of use.
Description
Hand-bent cedar bento box sealed with natural urushi lacquer
Hand wash gently with soft sponge; do not soak. Avoid dishwasher and microwave. Wipe dry immediately. Light recoating with urushi oil annually maintains finish and water resistance. Store in cool, dry place.
