About this craft
Shigaraki (信楽) is one of Japan's six ancient pottery centers, located in Shiga Prefecture. Known for earthy, ash-glazed wares and rustic character since the 13th century. The Ibushi (oxidized) finish is a traditional technique. Each handmade piece is unique.
