About this craft
Kutani-yaki is a 320-year heritage pottery tradition from Ishikawa Prefecture, recognized worldwide as one of Japan's three great porcelains. Hand-crafted using traditional glazing techniques. Sun-damari (sun-splatter) pattern reflects classical Kutani aesthetic. Designated by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a traditional craft.
Description
Hand-crafted Kutani matcha bowl with sun-damari glaze and wooden gift box
Hand-wash gently in warm water; avoid dishwasher. Kutani glaze is durable but not microwave-safe. Dry by hand. Store in included wooden box to protect glaze. Each piece develops character through use; minor crazing is natural to glazed ceramics.
