About this craft
Yamanaka is one of Japan's oldest woodcraft centers (est. ~1575). Shikki (lacquered wooden tableware) and hand-turned bowls are signature regional products, using native zelkova and traditional turning techniques passed down through generations.
Description
Hand-turned zelkova soup bowl from Yamanaka woodcraft region
Hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Dry immediately. Do not soak or expose to direct heat. Oil lightly with food-safe mineral oil every 1–2 months to maintain grain and prevent cracking.
