About this craft
Arita-yaki (有田焼) originated in Saga Prefecture in 1610, marking Japan's first porcelain production. Ko-Imari style—featuring bold underglaze blue and hand-applied gold overglaze—became the gold standard for Japanese export porcelain in the 17th–18th centuries and remains synonymous with refined Japanese tableware. Yuuki Roman continues this artisanal tradition.
Description
Set of 5 Arita porcelain Ko-Imari plates, hand-painted blue & gold
Handwash with soft brush to preserve gold overglaze detail. Microwave-safe for gentle reheating. Avoid dishwasher and steel-wool scrubbing. Store stacked with felt or cloth between plates to prevent gold rubbing. If gold dulls with age, this is patina characteristic of genuine hand-applied overglaze.
