About this craft
Nousaku is a Takaoka metalcraft workshop (takayama-denzai) established in the 1890s, part of a 400-year tradition of tin casting in Takaoka, Toyama. Hand-cast without industrial processing, pieces develop natural patina—embracing wabi-sabi aesthetic of impermanence.
Description
Hand-cast pure tin sake cup from Takaoka's heritage metalcraft tradition
Hand-wash gently with warm water and mild soap; dry immediately. Patina develops naturally and should not be polished. Do not dishwasher or soak. Store in a soft cloth to prevent scratching. Over time, tin may darken—this is intended aging.
