Shigaraki-ware (Shigarakiyaki) is made of pottery made in Shigaraku town in the mountains of Koga City, Shiga Prefecture, and has a history of more than 1,200 years as one of the Rokko kilns in Japan. It received the designation of traditional arts from the country in 1976 (1976). Hatchimon (a registered trademark) is a saying of Shigaraku craftsmen used in the meaning of "fluffy mono."
