About this craft
Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cotton hand towel. Kamawanu uses chusen, a centuries-old indigo hand-dyeing technique that creates rich, colorfast patterns. Motifs reference Edo-period ink paintings and seasonal plant life; indigo naturally ages and deepens with use, embodying wabi-sabi aesthetics.
Description
Hand-dyed Japanese cotton tenugui with spring cherry blossom motif
Hand wash separately in cool water; color will fade and deepen with time. Do not leave wet to avoid dye transfer to other fabrics. Dry flat or hang. Indigo naturally releases excess dye in early washes. As a kitchen cloth, wash frequently; as wall art, avoid direct sunlight.
