About this craft
Edo Kiriko (江戸切子) originated in 19th-century Tokyo (Edo) as hand-cut glass craft inspired by European cut glass but developed into a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. Chrysanthemum (kiku) is a classic pattern symbolizing longevity and nobility in Japanese art. The craft is recognized by Japan's Cultural Affairs Agency as a traditional art form.

Hand wash only; do not use dishwasher, as cut-glass detail can be damaged by high heat and abrasion. Dry immediately with soft cloth to prevent water marks. Store upright in paulownia box to protect from dust and light. Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not pour boiling liquid into cold glass).
