About this craft
Banko-yaki is an unglazed earthenware tradition originating in Mie Prefecture during the Edo period (17th century). The porous ceramic body retains heat and allows clay minerals to subtly enhance tea flavor—prized for green tea and hojicha brewing.
Description
Hand wash; avoid dishwasher. Seasoning not required (unlike cast iron). If interior stains appear, rinse with hot water or lightly brush with soft cloth. Store dry. Safe for stovetop or electric kettle pour; not microwave-safe
