About this craft
Tenugui is a traditional hand-dyed cotton cloth form dating to the Edo period. Somé no Yasube practices classical screen-printing and indigo dyeing (aizome) in Aichi. The pattern work and crisp selvedge finish are hallmarks of authentic tenugui craft.
Description
Hand-dyed indigo tenugui with dragonfly motif. Functional textile art, 100 cm.
Wash before first use. Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Indigo may release color slightly in early washes; wash separately if new. Dry flat or hang. Iron if desired. Use as towel, headband, kendo face cloth, or display on rod or frame.
