About this craft
Tokoname (Aichi Prefecture) has been Japan's primary kyusu production center since the early 1800s, known for unglazed earthenware that enhances tea flavor through natural patina. This style is essential to Japanese tea culture.
Description
Tokoname kyusu teapot. Unglazed ceramic, 680ml, integrated strainer.
Rinse with hot water before first use to remove dust. After brewing, empty leaves immediately and rinse with warm water only (no soap). Air-dry fully before storage. Do not dishwash. Over time, the unglazed interior will develop a tea patina—this improves flavor. Avoid rapid temperature changes.
