About this craft
Mino (Minoyaki) is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, producing ceramics since the 14th century. Oribe glaze—green, asymmetrical, with intentional 'imperfection'—emerged in the early 1600s as a deliberate counter to rigid pottery convention. Each piece is handcrafted with subtle variation.
Description
Handcrafted Mino-yaki Oribe plate, green glaze, 9.6 inch diameter
Handwash with soft sponge. Avoid prolonged soaking. Oribe glaze is food-safe and dishwasher-safe, but hand washing preserves the glaze patina. Suitable for hot liquids and cold foods. Store upright or in a padded rack to prevent chipping.
